"Brotherly Love"
Based on the novel “Seventy Times Seven” by Salvatore Sapienza, writer/director Anthony J. Caruso’s dramedy Brotherly Love finds a gay man torn between taking his final vows as a Brother in the Catholic Church and the man he falls in love with while staying in Austin for the summer. Caruso, who shot Brotherly Love in Austin before he relocated to California, stars as Brother Vito Fortunato. Derek Babb plays Gabe, the yard worker who captures Vito’s heart. Brotherly Love will screen 12:15 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar during the Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival.
